My work is a response to the landscape I live in, the faith I hold dear, and the joy I find in making something by hand
All of my textiles are created through slow, natural processes, with every piece thoughtfully made in Britain to the highest standards wherever possible. My hope is that these pieces bring you the same sense of comfort and quiet joy that I found in making them.
Rooted in the land, shaped by the sea
My childhood was shaped by salt-flecked Cornish summers, running barefoot through moorland and foraging in the hedgerow. My passion for the outdoors and the beauty of flowers was inherited from my grandmother, who deeply loved her garden.
I worked alongside my landscape-gardening uncles, learning how to tend a kitchen garden and grow food from seed. As a teenager, I worked on nearby farms, bottle-feeding lambs and embracing the rhythms and patterns of country life, one that’s governed by season and soil.
Sketched with love in Cornwall
These early experiences sparked a sense of wonder and a deep soul appreciation of the natural world - a quiet thread that’s woven through everything I create. My designs often begin with a walk: camera slung over my shoulder, collecting glimpses of wildflowers as I go.
Back at my desk, I sketch in pencil or paint in watercolour, transforming each petal, leaf or stem into a pattern that can live on fabric, paper or product. It’s a slow, thoughtful process that honours the handmade.
A promise of something greater
My love of the natural world is a reflection of my deep Christian faith. For me, looking upon creation is to catch a glimpse of God’s glory. I strive to capture the beauty of his creation through my artwork.
